Rainbow

A flop that contains three different suits where no flush can be made.

“The flop came AK7 rainbow.”

Raise

To increase the previous bet.

“Josh had a pretty good hand, so he decided to Raise .”

Raise Blind

To raise without looking at your cards.

A Raise Blind isn't always a good idea.

Rake

The amount of money that goes to the house.

The dealer collected the Rake for the Bellagio.

Rank

The value of each card.

Depending on the Rank of your kicker, you could be the winner.

Rap

When a player knocks on the table to indicate that he or she has checked.

A Rap is a non-verbal check.

Rat-Holing

To sit down for a low buyin and push all-in preflop to steal pots/small raises.

’Joe was not liked, because he engaged in rat-holing.’

Re-Buy

The amount of money a player pays to add a particular number of chips to their stack in a tournament.

“That Re-Buy cost me a bit of coin.”

Represent

To play as if you hold a certain hand.

To Represent, is a strategic move in poker.

Ring Game

A cash game.

The Ring Game was live.

River

The last card that is dealt in any game. In Hold'em and Omaha it is also referred to as 5 th street . In Stud games, it is referred to as 7 th street .

“Once the River was dealt, I knew I had a pretty good shot at the pot.”

Rock

A player who is tight and passive.

“Mark is such a Rock .”

Rounders

People who hustle cards for a living.

Rounders can sometimes be very wealthy people.

Run

A straight.

A Run is usually a decent hand.

Rush

A winning streak.

That Rush earned me some serious coin.
